FRISLI String Bag

It’s a quick make with simple steps, making it ideal for beginners or anyone in the mood for a calm, satisfying sewing session. The construction is clean and thoughtful, with a folded drawstring casing and finished seams that give it a polished look both inside and out.

Use your favorite cotton, linen, or any woven fabric you have lying around – it’s a great way to turn leftover fabric into something beautiful and functional.

YOU WILL NEED

47 x 83 cm (18½ x 32¾ in) of fabric

Matching sewing thread

It is recommended to use a woven (non-stretch) fabric.

TIP: Use approximately 1 meter (1 yard) of string or cotton yarn to help turn the drawstring right side out later.

BEFORE YOU START

This pattern is formatted for both A4 and US Letter paper sizes.

Print all pattern pieces at 100% scale and verify that the test square measures 5 x 5 cm (2 x 2 in).

If the square is too small, increase the print scale. If too large, decrease it.

Do not trim the paper margins — the pages are designed to be taped together edge to edge without overlap. Follow the arrows and numbers to assemble the pages in the correct order.

All pattern pieces include a 1 cm (⅜ in) seam allowance.
